Notes From The Nurse:
-
ImmunizationsState law requires that your child’s immunization records must be up to date prior to returning to school. Over the next few days, the nurse will be reviewing records to ensure compliance, and reminders will be sent to parents if there are any missing vaccinations. If you choose to use a religious exemption for vaccinations, you must complete the Religious Exemption form and turn it in to the nurse by the first day of school. This form must be dated July 1 or later.ScreeningHealth screens will begin right away, and this includes hearing, vision, height and weight for students in K, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 10. You will be notified if there are any concerns. If you have concerns regarding hearing and vision for your child and they are in a grade not mentioned, please contact the nurse.IllnessÅÝܽÊÓƵapps should be encouraged to come see the nurse if they are not feeling well and an assessment will be made. If your child needs to go home, the nurse will call you. ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps should not be calling parents to come pick them up as they should not be using their phone during the school day. It is also important for the nurse to keep track of illnesses that are in the building.MedicationIf your child requires medication during the school day, or if they have emergency medications, the appropriate medication forms and/or care plans must be on file. This includes over the counter medications.
